Preserving a file folder structure in a portfolio

New Here ,

I have a need to prepair a portfolio from a folder which contains subfolders and pdf files in the subfolders.  When I add the parent folder to the portfolio however, it collapses the file structure and simply adds all the pdf files it found in all the subfolders to the portfolio, thus losing the file folder stucture.  This makes it hard to locate the file I want as the folders are structured in such a way as to enable finding the file.

I found the below text on the web for Adobe 9, but it does not seem to work on Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

++++++++++++++++

Here are some tips for organizing your Portfolio component files:

  • If you import a folder, its contents—including any subfolders—are preserved in the portfolio.
  • You can't select more than one folder at a time from the Browse for Folder dialog to add them to the portfolio. Either locate and select the parent folder (and then delete any subfolders you don't want to maintain), or repeat the Browse for Folder process until you have the folders you want.
  • The folder hierarchy in a portfolio is shown as a breadcrumb menu (Figure 28a). In the example shown in the figure, there are three nested levels of folders from the Home mode.

    The figure looks like this:

Home/Images/Images1/

Is there any way I can create a portfolio in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC that preserves the file structure like the example above?

Hi Heely

We are sorry for the trouble. As described you want to add folder and subfolders in the PDF Portfolio.

Please refer to the steps provided in the help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/create-customize-pdf-portfolios.html#add_files_and_folders_...) and see if that works for you.

Note: If you add a folder to a portfolio, the files in the folder are added in alphabetical order.

I hope this will help.

Amal
