Prevent Recipient from Editing Fillable PDF?

Hi all,

I created an Offer Letter template to send out on a regular basis to new-hires. There are text fields where I would only like myself authority to edit, such as the name, the compensation, start date, Etc. Once I enter in that information, I want to send it to the candidate for signature.

When ready, I want the candidate to ONLY have access to sign the document. I want to avoid using a password to protect the document as that can get a little complicated. I have changed the fields to Read Only, but the candidate would be able to edit the form if they have Adobe Acrobat, correct?

Thoughts and ideas? I'd imagine this is normal for Adobe users who use this for signing contracts, Etc.

Add two Signature fields, one for you and one for the recipient. Set the first field (under Properties - Signed) to lock all the fields in the file, except for the other signature field, when signed. Then sign the file, save it and send to the recipient. Technically, they will be able to edit the fields (not in Acrobat, though), but doing so would invalidate your signature so you would be able to see that they did when they send you back the signed file.

This is a perfect application for the Adobe Sign Process.

Convert your form to a Sign form and set the properties of the fields appropiately.
