Preview Pane not displaying for outlook save as pdfs

Ive recently setup a new user on a Win10 machine, installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and the pdf addin for outlook. User is able to save as to pdf from outlook but the preview pane is not displaying these correctly. This is a screenshot of the preview pane:

The preview pane works correctly for older saved pdfs but no recent ones, the link for get adobe reader does not work from the preview pane either.
