Print to Adobe from MS Word Does not Work

Explorer ,
Feb 20, 2024 Feb 20, 2024

I find Adobe Acrobat absolutely crammed full of bugs and problems.

Latest problem.... trying to print from MS Word using Adobe Print to PDF.  Surely a most basic and simple task?

Instead of generating a PDF file it just creates literally hundreds of copies of a text file called [document].log ( where [document] is the name of the pdf file I am trying to create).  No pdf file is created.  Surely one error file is enough?   Why do I need hundreds of copies of a file I don't want?

The Microsoft built in pdf creator managed the same file perfectly, first time.  Why can't Adobe ??????  I thought Adobe was supposed to be a specialist at handling PDFs - in my experience Adobe is the worst pdf software you can use.

Hi @AndMcT

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

I have tried to reproduce the issue on my end and its working as expected.

Would you mind sharing the worksflow/steps you are doing to create the PDF? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful. You may also try to create the PDF as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/creating-simple-pdfs-acrobat.html and see if that works.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.08.20533 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau... and check
