Printing all text from multi line text field in Adobe Form - HELP!!!

New Here ,
Mar 11, 2020 Mar 11, 2020

Created a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat DC that has multiple fillable text fields that need to print whatever is entered into them regardless of the box size.   I am using the latest download of Acrobat DC, Windows10 - latest patch levels.  I have enabled multi-line and scrolling so the user is able to enter all the data they need to.  When the page containing the text field is printed, it prints only the visible text.  I thought of using the AUTO font size but the text would be too small to read in most cases.  What do I need to set to make this printing work?  Am I using the wrong tools/settings?  Is there scripting that will do this and if so, may I have the script?

This needs to work in this way, so changing the sizes of the text fields is not an option.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Kevin

Only PDF forms created in LiveCycle Designer can do that, not "normal" PDFs.

And the PDF format is very different from the Word format, so you can't really compare the capabilities of one with another.

Copy the text in a text editor and print the text.

The only other option is to copy the text into other, larger fields when the file is printed. This requires a custom-made script, though. If you're interested in purchasing such a script feel free to contact me privately via [try6767 at gmail.com].

Thanks for the ideas folks.  I think what I will do is redesign the form to the way I want it to work and tell the "bosses" that this is just the way it is... 🙂  I think I have figured out a way to incorporate the response from try67 and make this work so everyone will be happy.  Did Acrobat not have the expanding text field printing capability in older versions?  It just seems strange that a powerful tool like this cannot do what Word easily does.  IMHO.   Thanks so much for your assistance.  Greatly appreciated  !!!

Cheers,

Kevin

Sorry for the delay.   Thanks for the iinformation. I agree completely in the difference of formats and capabilities.  It would be nice to have but I also understand the problem with moving the field sizes affecting the ones which folkow.

So I decided instead to create web based forms and publish them through the web server/ database server.  Works good and once the form is filled out, we can either print directly or export as PDF and print.

Thanks so much for everyone's help with this problem.  Wiser now.

Cheers!!

I agree this is something Adobe should address, they have all these resources and developers and they cannot figure this out, they should just outsource the work to someone that can write the code to make this work. We need to have people input their information and thoughts and be able to print it out.
