Wondering if there is a way to print the same certificate multiple times but with a name change on each certificate?

Hi there
Thanks for reaching out. As described you want to print the Certificate/PDF file with a different name every time.
Is the certificate/PDF File signed by a different user? If yes, once the PDF file is signed it gets locked for further editing and we can not make any changes to it. If you are the owner of the PDF file and the only signer on the document you may refer to the steps provided in the help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/edit-signed-PDF.html) and see if that helps.
Regards
Amal

This is possible with a script.

Yes, this is a process called Mail Merge, and it can be achieved using the PDFMaker plugin for Word or by using a script, like this (paid-for) one I've developed: http://try67.blogspot.com/2011/09/acrobat-mail-merge-and-email.html
This tool is especially suitable for your purpose because it allows you to generate a single file with all the merged records in it, so you could then print it in a single command, and won't have to print each individual file separately.
