Printing error: Pages not Selected

New Here ,
Mar 09, 2017 Mar 09, 2017

I cannot print pdf documents and I'm getting an error message from Acrobat Reader that says  "The document could not be printed."  I click OK on that, and then another error message appears from Acrobat Reader:  "There were no pages selected to print."

I've tried selecting a range of pages instead of just "All" pages, and it still doesn't work.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.  I tried repairing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.  I tried restarting my computer, and it still doesn't work.

This is only happening with PDF documents in Adobe Reader.  I can print everything else from my other applications just fine, so I don't think it's a problem with the printer driver, but with the software.

I have the same problem since installing an update to DC. It is so aggravating and no renaming, save as, reboot, etc stops it.

LATEST

Hi,

I have the same problem since upgrading Mac OSX to 10.13.6 and the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

I just cannot print any PDF document, first it says document could not be printed, next, it says there were no pages selected to print.

The printer I have can any other document, just not document from Acrobat reader DC.

I have also tried all suggestions found on the internet or relevant forums, but nothing helpful.

Appreciate if you could provide some solution.

Thanks

Joe

I trying to find a solution for the same error, too.

I already re-installed DC or XI several time, cleaned caches, preferences tried various settings but still not able to print even a simple pdf without running into the mentioned dialog boxes. (The document could not be printed /There were no pages selected to print). Quite frustrating.

Im running the lastest version of Acrobat Reader DC on macOS Sierra 10.12.4

Hi all,

This is a generic error message and this issue is being worked upon.

Please help me with following details. Including contact information (Email, phone number and work hours). Please share your personal information via private message How Do I Send Private Message or via Adobe Send with the logs.

  • Name and version of the operating system or server?
  • The current version of Acrobat or Reader installed?
  • Print logs.

Here are the steps to enable the print logging on windows machine:

  1. Open Registry
  2. Go to

        2.a. 32 bit machine: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\Trunk(or DC)\FeatureState

        2.b.  64 bit machine: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\Trunk\FeatureState

   3. If FeatureState is not already present there, create it as a New key.

   4. Inside FeatureState, create a new DWORD and rename it as – ‘EnablePrintLogging’.

   5. Assign the value ‘1’ to EnablePrintLogging key

   6. Run the respective Print workflow

   7. The user should now open his System Temporary folder (%Temp% in cmd)

   8. A new file called ‘AcrobatPrintingLogs.txt’ should be present there. This file contains the relevant logs.

You may share the log file via Document cloud: https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7161
