Printing Issue

I am having issue sending my print job to my printer. When I print a PDF from the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro it gets sent to the print queue. From there it gets sent to the printer, the job disappears, the printer lights up, and then nothing happens. The printer does not initiate the job. It was working this morning and then it suddenly stopped. I can print from Preview and I can print a Test Print from the Print Queue but not Adobe.

I'm running the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro (2024.002.20687). My computer is running macOS Sonoma 12.4.1, latest version, it is an M1 Pro MacBook Pro. Can someone please assist? I've tried updating the printer, restarting the computer, and making sure everything else is up-to-date.

Hi @Gerald37119131912y

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

Would you mind sharing the make and model of the printer you are using?

Please check for any pending/missing updates and try updating them and check. You may also try to remove the printer driver from the computer , reboot and reinstall them from the manufacturer's website, and see if that works.

Also, go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-pdf-printing-acrobat-reader.html

Let us know how it goes.

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing the information.

Please collect and share the print logs as described below for further investigation.

  • Place the plist file com.adobe.Acrobat.FeatureState.plist at location /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/Trunk/Preferences
  • Execute the print workflow
  • Logs will be generated at  a location similar to  /var/folders/t9/93cz_sz9075d4nl5hqrlc6n00000gn/T.
  • The temp folder where the logs are generated is different for different users which is common only upto  /var/folders.
  • To get the exact path of the file use the following command on terminal “ sudo find / -name AcrobatPrintLogs.txt “
  • once you get the complete path eg like /private/var/folders/jk/vgtyw__s2dsdphtygd_0jslr0000gn/T/AcrobatPrintLogs.txt
  • just add cat as follows cat /private/var/folders/jk/vgtyw__s2dsdphtygd_0jslr0000gn/T/AcrobatPrintLogs.txt
  • One can see AcrobatPrintLogs

You may upload the logs to any cloud storage of your choice and generate the link and share it with us.

Hi there, I tried the renaming but it didn't work and Creative Cloud and Acrobat had to repair the file system. Are there any other things I can try?

I have the same issue. Just upgraded to Sonoma 14.5. Using a MacBook Pro 2018. Trying to print to a Brother MFC-J1205W or an HP 6970 without success.  Tried to rename the file as per the suggestion below but I do not find the Adobe.old file to rename it.  Very frustrating. Its about time this long time issue was fixed.

sorry, mistyped. /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat is the folder. Found that sometimes had to rename twice before it was fixed.
