For years I have been able to Print to PDF perfectly from Word 2003 with Acrobat 8 Professional on my windows 7 computer. Suddenly a couple of months ago it stopped printing to PDF.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both word 2003 and acrobat 8 pro and always got the same results.
I then did a complete computer restore (not just to a previous restore point) but much to my total frustration it continued doing the exact same thing after the restore.
Now the only programs installed are:
Word 2003
Excel 2003
Adobe acrobat 8 Pro
Adobe PS elements 11
Google Chrome
MS Security Essentials
During the installation of Acrobat 8 Pro (both before and after the complete restore) I got a pop up window which says:
"The Adobepdf.dll file on the windows vista cd-rom is needed."
The problem is that this computer, a Gateway DX 4820-03, was immediately upon purchase upgraded to Windows 7, so it was never operated with the vista operating system. In regard to the Adobepdf.dll, I selected the "AMD64" folder and selected the Adobepdf.dll file from that folder and finished the installation.
After the installation, there is an "Adobe PDF" printer under "Printers and Faxes" in "Devices and Printers" but when I try to print to pdf, the pages turn on the little book in the bottom "page" bar; then a red "X" appears and nothing happens.
It did almost the exact same thing before the restore, but instead of nothing happening, I got an error "X" over the "Adobe PDF" printer in the "Devices and Printers."
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in response.
Please refer to the steps given in the following link:

At the very least you must upgrade to Axrobat 8.1. Earlier versions cannit install a PDF printer in Windows 7.
