Problem relate to activating Adobe acrobat XI Pro

New Here ,
Nov 27, 2020 Nov 27, 2020

Dear fellow adobe acrobat user,
As per the advice of a community member I have contacted adobe help team and they are telling me that Acrobat XI Pro is too old and no longer available and supported with Windows 10 64 Bit; also, Acrobat XI Pro servers have been shut down. And they offered me to provide Acrobat Pro 2017 Perpetual License at cost of US$199.99 (16270 INR). Being an academician & use only for limited non-commercial academic use & that offer was too costly to afford Acrobat Pro 2017 Perpetual License at that cost. It is ridiculous from adobe to inactivate existing Acrobat XI Pro Perpetual license & then asking the customer to go for higher version at much higher cost. Who knows after another 4/5 years Acrobat Pro 2017 also will become obsolete & again I will be asked to spend another $150 for new license Hence have decided not to use Adobe acrobat henceforth?

Hi,

I understand your frustration. As an academician, you should qualify for an educational licence or get one from your eeducational institution. The prices, sometimes even free to you, are usually much lower than for commercial licences. One of the reason to upgrade is to ensure ll users have access to the most developped version and the most secured one.

I am EXTREMELY suspicious that you contacted scammers. Because Acrobat 2017 is no longer available either, from Adobe. And because part of what they told you is a lie - the Acrobat XI servers are not switched off. How did you contact this "Adobe support" Please give exact details of your contact method (but not your personal info).

No, this is all a scam. Acrobat 2015 and Acrobat 2017 are finished. They will sell you software that may have viruses, they may steal your credit card info, and because the software is fake it may stop working after days or weeks when Adobe catch up.

Important note: when you post in the forums, Adobe WILL NOT CONTACT YOU. Only scammers pretending to be Adobe.  It is now too late for an upgrade from Acrobat XI by any legal means, you would have to pay full price, and expect to need a new one again in 2-4 years. If this is not in your budget, find other apps.

In continuation with my post regarding issues with activation of Adobe Acrobat XI, I would like to inform all the adobe community members that Adobe Acrobat XI license activation servers are not shut down, only support & updates are stopped. Some members misguided saying that Adobe license activation servers are shut down. As per the suggestion of one of the members I have contacted Adobe customer care over the phone (008004401751), the care executive adobe was kind enough to listen to my problem and reset the licence activation counter after confirming my adobe account & product serial number. Then I was able to install adobe acrobat XI in my new laptop & activate. When I was struggling to contact Adobe, customer care somebody from the user community named Nicole Henry claiming as from Team Adobe sent a private message on adobe support community portal asking me to send email to Adobe Customer Care Team at Email Address-**scam email address**. Believing him I sent email to that ID explaining my problem.  That person replied me back saying that Acrobat XI Pro is too old and no longer available and supported with Windows 10 64 Bit and that Acrobat XI Pro servers have been shut down. If you try to install or update it further, then it will create conflict with your system. so, what we will do is provide you the Acrobat Pro 2017 Perpetual License so that you can work in a proper way. Then he offered me to provide Acrobat Pro 2017 Perpetual License at cost of US$199.99 (16270 INR). In next email he sent an invoice for US$199.99 (16270 INR) in the name of Adobe incorporation, asking me to transfer 16270 INR to UPI account (adobeindia@icici). I checked that UPI ID belongs to Akash Tyagi. Luckily, I posted their offer in Adobe support community before transferring the money. Immediately Some one from support community alerted me saying I may be a victim of scammers. Thanks to that person just in time for alerting me from becoming a prey. I feel Nicole Henry & Akash Tyagi are members of a scammer group. I am sharing my experience to all community members so that they should not fall victim to scammers. In future if anybody faces any problem regarding licence activation they can directly call the Adobe customer care helpline in their country Reach us by phone (adobe.com).

Thanks for the support from Adobe users community.

Thank you for sharing the story and warning others about this scammer group. Unfortunately, there are a lot of them around, and they keep changing names so it's a real cat-and-mouse game... I will report that person you mentioned and they will be banned very promptly from the forums. The main lesson here is to always be suspicious when someone contacts you, offering unsolicited "help", especially when they use unofficial email addresses and payment methods.
