problem when converting word file to pdf: special characters not recognized

I try to convert yesterday my thesis in PDF with a lot of  special characters in times new roman Š, ṭ and ĝ and to print it. Adobe recognised it but when I print it, a majority of them were erased. Do you know what I can do to avoid the problem in the future ?

How are you converting it, exactly? What command are you using?

I used the fonction "save in the pdf format" in word. Thanks !

That's a Microsoft command. Try using the Create PDF command under the ACROBAT ribbon.

Can you maybe do for me a screen shot of the create pdf command, just in case, I can't find it because of the stress of the last day of submission ?
