Problem with comment pop ups

I just updated to the latest acrobat reader and suddenly all comment pop ups opened which slows the entrie document. 
I tried disabling almost all options in comment preferences and restarting but it doesn't solve the problem. 
What can I do to make the pop ups go away?

Have you tried changing your preferences with no document open?
