Hi guys
I'm using Adobe acrobat reader DC(19.021.20056) on Windows 7 pro(64)
The issue is that, I actually can use this option of exporting highlighted text(in comments ) but It doesn't work as it should. It creates a FDF file, which is smaller than original but when I open it ,the program shows me orginial PDF file instead of FDF. What could went wrong?
I checked the feature Copy Selected text into Highlight, Strikethrough, and Underline comment pop-ups and it's enabled. I don't have also in commentary menu an option 'create comment summary'.
Any ideas?
I'm from Poland ,so please correct me if i wrote something wrong, Thank you in advance

How does you create the FDF file?

You can open the FDF file in Notepad.

That's the expected result when using the Export All to Data File command from the Comment panel.
For what you're describing you need to use the Summarize Comments option in the Print dialog, or a script, like this (paid-for) one I've developed: http://try67.blogspot.com/2010/12/reader-create-comments-summary.html

So what's the point of using option 'Export all to Data File'?
As I said earlier i don't have and option 'create comment summary' in comment menu. Any sugestions why? Or how i can add this feature , considering free version now?
Edit: As you said i tried 'Summarize Comments' option in the Print dialog (but of course i don't want to print it at all) and it extendted the file with kind of comment pages (from about 500 to 730(i don't know why that much) ).Is there a posibilty by using this feature to create a file with only those comments or maybe you got some alternative free 😜 solutions?

The point is it creates a file that contains all the comment data, so you could import it into another file, if you wished to. This is very common when doing a shared review of a document. Each reviewer submits their FDF file and they are all imported into a single document, to get a complete review from multiple people.
