Programatically change QR code link targets

Hi there,

I have run into a dead end her and hopefully some of you got an idea how to resolve the following problem.

I have created a barcode form field in a PDF file, where the link target is just a dummy address. Now I need to insert final link address from our software.

Everything works fine when I set up an FDF file and double click it to open in Acrobat. This merges just perfect, displaying the right link target as an QR code (as specified in the FDF).

But since we have around 300-500 files every day, this is not an option.

We have been using PDFtk to merge PDF and FDF via the command line in the background earlier. When trying to use it for the QR codes it changes the link target address, but does display it just as text instead of the QR code picture.

Sure thing this has to do with the way it gets calculated in the background when the link changes.

Now, how can I make this work with Acrobat? Is there a command line reference that I have been missing?!

I am not limited to merging the QR code link with the FDF file. I can also deliver a QR code "picture" to be inserted into each individual PDF file, so nothing needs to get calculated.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Best,

Ralph.

Sorry, forgot to mention that we're running the latest Acrobar Pro DC.

Best,
