Qualy Issue When Printing PDF to PDF

New Here ,
May 24, 2024 May 24, 2024

I frequently mark-up PDFs and print to a new PDF to "flatten" the mark-ups. A few weeks ago I noticed the new PDF has poor quality and the ‘Edit Text & Images’ tool no longer works (the new PDF does not retain the same object information as the original).  See attached example, new PDF on left and old PDF on right. The ‘Edit Text & Images’ tool has been selected and objects have become defined, but the new PDF is fuzzier than the original and the objects are not defined, they are just big blocks. Anyone know how to fix??

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Have you started experiencing this issue recently or earlier as well?

What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20759 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/3VhxoE2 and check

Let us know how it goes.

I am using Windows 10 Enterprise and Adobe Acrobat Standard (Version 24.002.20759).

I checked and there is no option to repair.
