"Reinstall ADOBE_EPIC and enter a valid serial number."

New Here ,

I have followed EVERY instruction and step to take out my "old" version -- why was never explained to me -- and download the same version.  I put in my previous version(s) serial numbers where and when requested.  But the new downloaded 8.0 professional still opens with an error window that says I must "Reinstall ADOBE_EPIC and enter a valid serial number."  Aside from the obvious that I have already entered the valid serial number -- the last one on the product I last bought -- I see no ADOBE_EPIC program to reinstall.

Someday I would like Adobe to tell me why -- when the program was working fine and I had not had any problems with it -- Adobe apparently saw fit to deactivate my program?   I paid for it.  Is it not mine?  Should it not work?  None of this makes sense.

In the meantime, I would like someone somewhere to tell me how to get a working version of Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional going again.  I paid for it.  It should work.
