Radio buttons formatted alike but look different

I have two sets of radio buttons in my PDF, and the sets'  properties are exactly the same, but they don't look the same in the final PDF: the outlines are different thicknesses and the checks are different sizes.  In properites, both sets are 10pt Adobe Pi, with thin outlines.  What am I missing here?

I've noticed this happens when the font size property is set to "Auto."  Some will randomly have different border thicknesses and the checkmark will be different sizes. Now I set the font size for all of the radio buttons and checkboxes and the sizing seems to be consistent.

  • Open the Prepare Form tool
  • Select all radio buttons, you can select all of them by keeping the CTRL key pressed in your keyboard while left-clicking with the mouse pointer on the desired field object
  • Then right-click on that selection and select "Properties" from the context menu.
  • In the "Appearance" tab, note below the "Text" section, the dropdown menu "Font Size".

If you see the word "Varies" in that "Font Size" dropdown menu, that is a clear indication that your sets of radio buttons do not have the same properties in all of them.

Thanks -- I'll try this if it happens again.  I ended up deleting and rebuilding the offending button sets in order to get the project finished on time.  Of note, they all said they were 10 pt, Adobe Pi, so hypothetically they were all the same, but I might have found the descripancy with the CTRL left-click method.
