Although this thread is over two years old, access to the ftp.adobe.com site still remains a problem. I've been never been able to successfully download Acrobat Pro .dmg update files through the link provided* by Adobe. A panel pops up instructing me to "Enter name and password for the server "ftp.adobe.com."
Any advice will be gratefully received.
it's working for me now,
try a different browser or ftp client
Hmmm...no joy. Oddly, the same link takes me to an altogether different screen. Opening the link to Acrobat2015Upd1500630416.dmg
brings up the request to enter a username and password to the ftp.adobe.com site. Note: this has been a persistent problem since I acquired the product in 2015. However, with Adobe's email update alert, I was able to find a more conventional path and successfully downloaded and installed the 30146 update. Whatever works, I suppose...many thanks for your swift response.
Branched out as a new thread.
FTP site now asking for password.
Thankfully can still get updates from:
Reader Full: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
Working fine for me...
Odd. Wonder if regional issue. I'm on east coast, USA. you?
Just checked. Still happening this morning for us.
Could be... I'm located in Europe.
I'll inform the Adobe Staff of this (possible) issue.
I'm also getting an error message now...
Just to be clear:
Similar screen in Firefox, chrome, etc. And no, anonymous login does NOT work.
I'm not getting that message. I'm getting this, no matter what folder I try to access:
Update: Now it's working again... Maybe they just fixed it?
No change here
it's working for me at 11:46 pst 02/16/19 using chrome. maybe try a different browser or ftp client.
It's been working intermittently for me during the day...
OK just tested on https://ftptest.net/ and it can login anonymous just fine.
So either our network has been banned or filtering is screwing it all up.
Sorry for false positive. I've been using the ftp server for months and then found this thread so thought same issue but look like not.
I have just successfully tested access using the WinSCP client (https://winscp.net/eng/index.php) with the following settings:
File Protocol: FTP
Encryption: No encryption
Port number: 21
User name: anonymous
Anonymous login: checked
It worked for me in Filezilla as well.
