Reader from Pro

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro. I do not have Acrobat Reader.  With the portfolio document (which contains a form with text field for user data entry) that I have created, is it possible to view it from Acrobat Pro as one would see it in Reader?

If you have the 64 bits Acrobat, I think that this one changes to Acrobat Reader when you are signed out. If you have the 32 bits Acrobat, you need to install the Reader to get Reader functionality.

Yes, you can certainly view a portfolio document, including forms with text fields for user data entry, in Adobe Acrobat Pro in a similar way to how it appears in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Adobe Acrobat Pro offers all the features available in Acrobat Reader and more, so you can view and interact with PDFs, including portfolios, forms, and their elements.

Here's how you can open and view your portfolio document in Adobe Acrobat Pro:

  • Open Adobe Acrobat Pro on your computer.
  • Navigate to the location where your portfolio document is stored.
  • Double-click on the portfolio document to open it in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Your portfolio document should open, and you can view its contents just as you would in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • To fill out and interact with forms within the portfolio, locate the specific form you want to work with and click on the text fields to enter data or interact with other form elements.

Adobe Acrobat Pro provides a more extensive set of tools for working with PDFs, including editing, annotating, and creating PDFs. So, you can use it to do much more than just view and fill out forms within a portfolio document.

Thanks for your reply. When I view the portfolio (example attached) in Pro, it shows the individual pdfs on the left. These can be removed. I don't want the user to be able to modify or delete these in any way. Will a user in Reader be able to do that?

Users with Acrobat DC or Acrobat DC Pro can modify the data, except you put a protection on the PDF files.

No, Acrobat Reader cannot add or delete files in a PDF Portfolio.
