Is there support for reading barrier-free PDF documents in a browser like chrome? Now I read everything chaotically with the plugin from adobe. But in the program itself, Adobe Acrobat reads everything without problems.

Sorry to say there are some limitations regarding PDF handling or online reading on Acrobat Online compared to Acrobat Desktop.

Because of the architectural difference, it doesn't support everything as it does for the desktop app.

However, your feedback is valuable to us, and you can share it with our engineering team here: https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Thanks,

@Neluser, although most browsers can display a PDF, none so far can provide a full suit of tools to correctly read and navigate the PDF with assistive technologies like JAWS and NVDA.

In technical terms, browsers are not compliant with the PDF/UA-1 specification of how to present a PDF for assistive technologies. It's called "functionality."

However, I'm seeing some change in this area: some manufacturers are making plug-ins for browsers that are giving some functionality for PDFs and I hope that this continues until everyone can open, read, and use a PDF in their browser, whether they use an assitive technology or not.

But until that day,  download the PDFs from websites to your computer or device, and then open them with Adobe Acrobat.
