Recent Update to Acrobat Interface has issues and I question... why?

Community Beginner ,

Apologies ahead of time for the long post.

I currently use the DC version at work. I have been using Adobe Acrobat for 20+ years creating approximately 5,000 pdf files a year and the recent interface "update" made to Acrobat appears to be non-sensical and throws muscle memory of power users like myself out the window. Yes, I know I can go back to the previous interface but knowing how "updates" work, eventually the new interface will be force fed to users and some changes are, well... an issue. I would like some help in figuring out how to fix some things (thumbnails panel and plugins) and hope that other issueslisted below will eventually make it to an acrobat tech.

Save Button Placement - why move the save button to the far right of the Menu Bar? Way I see it, almost all software out there has the save button on the left. Might be minor for some but come on... why? Option to place on left in preferences?

Thumbnail Panel - Issue #1 - Too much white space. I have a 27" monitor and when I open the thumbnail panel, it takes up a considerable amount of my screen. There is so much wasted white space around the thumbnails and I can only imagine what it looks like on small laptops. Also, the mini menu that comes up when hovering or selecting a page on the thumbnail panel (the rotate and delete menu), is there an option to turn off?

Thumbnail Panel - Issue #2 - I move around a bunch of pages in a single pdf or between multiple pdf files and I prefer to work with two or three columns in the thumbnail panel. The default is one column and I see no way to save my preference for multiple columns and thumbnail size as I used to have in the previous version.  No matter what I try, I have to resize the panel as well as the size of thumbnails on every single pdf I open... every.single.time.

Plugins Buried - I use a plugin, StampPDF, on practically all my pdf files. Previous version, the app installed a button on the menu bar, I would click the button, choose type of stamp and done. New interface, I have to click on MENU, then PLUGINS, then StampPDF, then type of stamp. How about the ability to add said button to the toolbar?

Adding and Editing Security Settings - I use Pasword Security to lock editing. This used to take me three clicks to get to the window to change settings i.e. lower quality (for drafts). With the new interface, in order to edit a security setting of a pdf that I just secured goes like this:

  1. Add Password
  2. Save the document to set the PW - no lock shows to show that it has been secured.
  3. Close the document
  4. Reopen the document to see/access Security Lock Button
  5. Click Security Lock Button (now that it shows)
  6. Click Permission Details
  7. Click Change Settings
  8. Enter PW to access the settings
  9. Change settings

I know this forum is for community users but I am frustrated.  If anyone can solve some of these issues for me, I would be such a happy camper.

Thanks @MigdaliaNJ for your post on new UI experience, while we understand new UI came up with some changes, it has certain advantage and more features than the older one. You can read more about it here. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/new-acrobat-experience.html

Also, will pass on this experience suggestions to the team internally to evaluate more on this perspective.

Hi @MigdaliaNJ,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for sharing the feedback.

Would you mind writing the feedback here: https://adobe.ly/4jKfW6y to ensure it reaches the dev team directly for review and future implementation.

Also, if this affects your workflow too much, you can revert back to the Classic Interface by going to Menu-> Disable New Acrobat-> Restart.

Hope this helps.
