Reducing a PDF - “An error was encountered while processing images”

Hi,

I have an Adobe Acrobat Pro license. I am trying to reduce the size of a PDF. So I go to File > Save As Other > Reduced size PDF. I choose “make compatible with Acrobat 8.0 and later”. In about 10 seconds or so, I get the error message “An error was encountered while processing images”. This PDF is about 1600 pages and the file size is about 45KB. I have searched the internet for a solution but a lot of the articles are pointing to older Acrobat features that are not available in the current version. Any suggestions?

A PDF of 1600 pages and 45kb is probably not more compressible. I wouldn't care about such a size.

Ok. But what about if we need to "make compatible with Acrobat 8.0 and later" and we get that error message? What then?
