I am using Fujitsu ScanSnap Manager version 6.5160 together with Adobee XI.
Lately when I scan documents an enormous file is created of 2-4 megabytes. However, previously (such as a week ago and prior) the same scanned documents' size was 100KB to 200KB and the even the logos and signatures were in color and now it is in B&W.

Then clearly, it is the settings on the scanner itself (or whatever application program you use in conjunction with the scanner). Adobe Reader cannot control how large the PDF files are that it consumes. ![]()

We assume you really mean "Acrobat XI" or more commonly referred to as Acrobat 11.
Are you scanning independent of Acrobat, i.e. the scanner is producing PDF, or are you scanning from within Acrobat?
In the former case, check the settings on the scanner itself. In the latter case, check the settings for the scanner when you invoke the scan function within Acrobat. I suspect that the color mode and resolution settings may have changed from when you previously scanned. Change them back to values (such as color versus black and white and/or to a lower resolution) and see if that solves your problem.

Dear Dov,
Thank you for your reply, I am actually scanning using Fujitsu Scan Snap iX500, as the scanner, but using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as the application to read the files. Up until 2 weeks ago, my scanned documents approximately 35 pages created a pdf file size of 135KB, however the same type of documents and pages are creating a pdf file size of 2 MB to 4B
