Remote updating of Acrobat files

Hi all,

I have tried looking for similar topics but alas have found none that specifically deal with this issue.

I run 4 satellite businesses and have created editable .pdf "forms" for each site, e.g;
"Site 1" - food order sheet",  "Site 1" - consumables order sheet. "Site 1" - in-house order sheet, etc

... plus as above at other sites with "Site 2", "Site 3" and "Site 4" being simply a name change to the files.

  • Submitting the food order sheet automatically emails the completed PDF to our supplier and c.c's me
  • Submitting the consumables order sheet automatically emails the completed PDF to another supplier and c.c's me
  • Submitting the food in-house sheet automatically emails the completed PDF to me

The name of the file has the site name and account number, allowing the supplier to correctly deliver the products to the correct site.

This works well and saves me receiving lots of disperate order messages through texts, emails, phone calls and crumpled pieces of paper handed at site visits.

An issue arises when a supplier 'pulls' a lot of items from their stock.  Currently, I manually update the files and travel to each site, 'Airdropping' (or otherwise getting the files) to the site iPad and manually deleting the older incorrect file from the local file.

Also, I sometimes wish to add a 'seasonal' element to the files and occasionally add a page of Halloween, Easter or Christmas products.

Is there an easier way to update these remotely? In my mind I would like to see the contents of each iPad (I only need to update Acrobat PDFs) and manage them from one central location.

Thanks for any assistance

I don't think so, and even if there was, it's beyond the scope of this forum, as it wouldn't involve Acrobat.

Why not instruct the users to open the files from a cloud folder, instead of having the files saved on the local device, though? That way you could update it there, and they will get the latest version each time they open it.
