How can I remove a line that was somehow added over some text when I opened a pdf to prepare a form? The original pdf did not have that line. I am new with latest Acrobat DC.

This solution did not work for me. I have a line that I cannot remove in Print Production, nor Edit. I can't find any way to remove it. At the same time I have this, I also have a problem with Adobe only letting me type one character at a time, but only in between clicks on other areas of the page. All at once. Interesting.

You should try the Redact tool, with a white redaction mark:

"I also have a problem with Adobe only letting me type one character at a time"

This bug also happens to me sometimes, restarting Acrobat is enough to fix it.
