I have several PDF files that are scanned images that were saved at letter sized paper. I'd like to crop the pages down to the image alone and remove the white borders. I see an option in the set page boxes to "remove white margins" but it doesn't appear to do anything.

This is something you need to do in an image editor, like Photoshop, before creating the PDF. Acrobat only identifies "white margins" as areas where no objects (images, text, graphics, etc.) exist at all.

You can use the Crop tool in the Edit PDFs area to manually crop the file down to the image.

That's what I've been doing, but i have about 30 files like this with 50-60 pages each, and i was hoping for a more automated solution.
