Request for lowering subscription fee as long as Acrobat Pro is so bad

Community Beginner ,

Dear Adobe,

I have been using your products for over 30 years now. They have become part of my life.

But Acrobat is by far the worst product I have ever used in those years. It is useless. Acrobat crashes, is incredibly slow, and lacks basic features that the competition has had for years.

Since I have to use another paid PDF tool, I think it is fair for Adobe to lower the subscription costs because you cannot charge people for this software. I don't think Adobe is proud of this product. It takes away all the joy from using the other Adobe products.

Please consider my request. Thanks

Hi there,

I hope you are doing well. Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m really sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve experienced. I understand how frustrating it can be, especially since you’ve been using Adobe products for so many years.

Crashes, slow speed, and missing features are not the experience we want for you.

Please make sure Acrobat is updated to the latest version 25.01.20623, as updates often fix problems. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.  You can also try Help > Repair Installation in Acrobat, and turn off any unused plug-ins to see if it runs faster.

Regarding your request for lower subscription costs, I can’t make that change myself, but I will share your feedback with our product and billing teams so they understand how this is affecting you.

Thanks again for your understanding and for being a long-time Adobe user.

~Amal

My Acrobat was already up to date. So that did not solve it.

I removed Acrobat, reinstalled it. Same behavior.

I am not the only one with this problem. Many people are experiencing this.

It is frustrating that Adobe is spending time adding AI features while not improving its core functionality.

Acrobat Pro and Reader are not the same. Every modern browser does a better job than Acrobat Reader.

I want to use the Acrobat Pro functionality.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to keep you waiting.

What happens when you try to use the Acrobat Pro functionality. Do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screesnhot of the same. Also a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs would be very helpful.

Also, ensure that you have the application updated to the latest version 25.01.20630, Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

There are so many errors. All the time. When starting Acrobat, when using the edit tool, etc.

And, though these errors are annoying, starting up takes 12 seconds, selecting the text edit tool takes 5 seconds, etc

The lag is understandable if the Acrobat code produces memory reference errors.

Further, if Acrobat can produce these memory reference errors, how can it be safe to use?

Hello @jeroenv

I hope you are doing well, and we're sorry for the trouble you had.

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20756 Planned update, Oct 01, 2025. Check for any pending updates by navigating to Menu > Help> Check for Updates. Install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

Also, ensure that you have installed all mandatory and optional updates for the operating system. Do you receive the error message when you open the app, when you view a specific PDF file, or when you view all PDFs? For testing purposes, go to Menu > Preferences > Security(enhanced) > uncheck 'Enable Protected mode at startup', and 'Enable Enhanced Security'> Click OK, and restart the app.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
