Scanner not working with Acrobat DC Pro 2019

I was using an old PC with Acrobat XI Pro and a Kyocera ECOSYS M6030 cdn as the scanner/printer. Acrobat was working fine scanning using the TWAIN driver.

I had the PC upgraded recently with new MB, processor, HD etc. So I decided to also update my softwares including Acrobat. I bought an Acrobat DC Pro subscription. The software installed fine. I also downloaded the latest printer (Classic Universal Driver v3.3) and scanner (TWAIN_2.0.4824_WIA_1.0.0304) drivers for my scanner/printer from the Kycoera web site. I installed both the WIA and the TWAIN drivers. The scanner is set up as the default TWAIN scanner.

I have 2 problems. When I go to Create a PDF | Scan

  1. My TWAIN scanner does not appear as an available scanner.
  2. It does show up as "WIA-Kyocera M6030cdn" using the MSD port. But if I scan using it, Acrobat will return the message "Scanning cancelled" straightaway and stops.

I have tried the suggestions in the "Troubleshoot scanner issues when using Acrobat" FAQ. Nothing works.

I have tested the scanner with other softwares - ABBYY FineReader 15 and PaperScan v3.0.97. It shows up as both a TWAIN and a WIA scanner. The TWAIN driver works fine with these softwares.

Any suggestions?
