Scanning documents are black images

I just upgraded (?) to the current version of Adobe.  I am scanning documents from my HP MFP 521 scanner and all the pages are black/dark gray.  No images are visable on any of the pages.  Also, I have tried to open documents sent by clients and those are black, also.  Previously, I was able to open and view those documents.  I opened the same documents on another computer (with an older version of Adobe) and can view the docuemnts.

I want to add that I can open the created pdfs with Microsoft Edge and the images are displayed.

In the preferences enable the view of large images.

Thanks.  That fixed some of the pages.  Now I have some pages that have black backgrounds and green letters/numbers/texts.
