Hi,
I am working on fixing the accessibility for a set of pdf documents and I am struggling to get screen readers to read the hyperlinks. I have tried making the hyperlinked text a figure and adding alt text, but that is not resolving the issue.
I have looked at this response - Will Acrobat Read Out Loud read links while tabbing links on a page? | Adobe Acrobat (acrobatusers.c...
But the answer doesn't make sense to me.
It is also chosing not to read text even though I have the box selected in the reading order, but I am hoping I can resolve that issue with enough work on the tagging system.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs with hyperlink texts? Please try with a different PDF file and check.
Do you get any error message when trying to screen read the hyperlinked text? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for more clarity.
What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20759 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/3yCNJLY and see if that works.

Hi Amal,
Thanks for reaching out. It is an issue with all files, regardless of their origin (Canva an InDesign). There is no error message either. It is the most up to date version of Acrobat. I will investigate the preferences.
