Thank you for the screenshot, I was able to see that you're using the older (better) UI.
Be aware that not all PDFs can be edited. They have have been "Protected," they may have been OCRed from an image, there are a number of reasons that prevent editing. Just be aware.
First, be in the "Edit PDF" Toolset (green arrow), then click on the "Add Text" tool (blue arrow). Now you can select text and edit words.
HOWEVER, please remember that Acrobat is NOT a word processor or a text layout application. If you try to do extensive editing, you will see the problem.
If you need to do extensive editing, the best thing to do is to get the original document and work on it in the original application. The 2nd best option is to export the document to Word, make the changes you want (and repair any damage the export did to the document), and the revert the document back to a PDF.

Hi, @Es353295394vb6, I'm sorry I did not notice this in the first place but when I first saw this, I saw the text frame box, pointed at with a gree arrow.
This implied to me that you had clicked on the document and the action created a text box. Upon a second observation, I see a 2nd text box to the right (blue arrow), which is why I wondered if this was a result of a scanned document that was OCRed.
If you're trying (or wishing) to merge two side-by-side text blocks like this, I'm sorry, you cannot. If you have two text blocks, one on top of the other, sometimes you can merge them by shift-clicking the two and merging them.
If all you need is the text, one option you do have is to export the text into either a Word document. If the export shows a mess of styles, fonts, and sizes, one way around this is to export the document into a txt document. This will provide the text. No images, but those you can (or should) be able to take out of the original document via Edit mode in Acrobat Pro.
Good luck!
