I don't know why and how the blue cursor highlight on selected text became so light. Is there a way to make it darker?
In the pic, standard normal is highlighted while the rest isn't. You can see hwo light the cursor highlight is.
When I search for specific words, the same light highlight applies and I can't see where the words I'm looking for are at.

Problems with colors not showing up correctly are often caused by a color substituion done to increase readability - somethings it has the opposite effect if it's enabled by accident. Open up Acrobat's preferences, then go to "Accessibility" - at the top you should see a "Replace Colors" checkbox - is that checked? If so, uncheck it and try again.

I didn't even realize I had it checked. It must've been an accident. Thank you very much, it worked!

I am having these problems with the highlighter:
1. The highlighter color is not visible when one is highlighting the text (earlier it used to be).
2 . After highlighting, when the text is highlitghted, the text's is greyed out - i.e. text looks "faded" when highlighted - makes it less readable.
The "Replace Colors" checkbox is indeed unchecked.
Thanks.

I am having these exact issues. Highlighting is no longer visible while you're doing it, even though it used to be. It also appears that the highlight is now on top of the text, which is causing the text below it to appear faded. I reviewed older PDFs where the the highlight is set to yellow (255,255,0) and 100% opacity. Text is perfectly visible, like it's on top of the yellow. Now, it's like the highlight is on top of the text. Setting the opacity to 100% completely blocks the text.

I just used the values you've specified and the text is perfectly visible - even with 100% opacity. Which version of Acrobat or Reader are you using, and on what platform?

Ok, I was having the issue where the highlight color was so light it was barely visible. I looked at what the others posted and it did not work for me, but I believe I figured it out.
1. Highlight a portion of text (even though it will be super light initially).
2. Right click the highlighted text.
3. Choose Properties.
4. Change the Opacity to how light or dark you want the highlight to appear (I found 50% to be good).
5. Check the box at the bottom that says "Make Properties Default".
