Anyone figure this out? Please do not respond unless you have a way to do this. Do NOT waste anyone's time telling us that there are other settings.
I want either "ZOOM TO PAGE LEVEL" or "FIT TO HEIGHT" as the DEFAULT when I open a binder of pages...……………..
If you know how this is done then please let us know.

Hi James,
As far as I can tell, they are the same. Did you find any differences?
If you want to know why they have different names, you would have to ask one of the engineers. The volunteers on this forum can only guess at an answer.

James,
I perhaps the same issue you do. I may have a way to do this on a per document level. My problem is when I binder hundreds of documents into a single PDF every time I click on a bookmark to go to a particular document it changes the view to "Fit to Width" when what I really want is to keep the "Fit to Page" view. This is the workaround:
1. Open up the Bookmark Navigation Pane;
2. Select all Bookmarks (CTRL + A) works;
3. Right Click and select Properties
4. Select the second Tab titled "Actions"
5. At the bottom under "Actions" click on the Edit button
6. the "Go to a page in this document" window will open, under Zoom, change from "Fit Width" to "Fit Page"
7. Save.
Hope this works for you.

I assemble hundreds of PDFs using Combine Files all the time. This suggestion about setting bookmark preferences to Fit to Page (or Zoom to Page Level) is what I use all the time to make my files open to a full page view every time I navigate the assembled document.
And I feel the pain of the user that started this thread, for YEARS!!!
I gave up looking for a Preferences setting that would just assemble the files with Fit to Page as the default, instead of the stupid "Fit Width" I have been stuck with. I should not have to modify the bookmarks in this fashion, it should be an option within the assembly process. I have kept hoping it would get better, having lived with this situation for so long, but NNOOOOooo. I cannot understand how such a good program can let this one go by for so long without improvement.

Nope. That doesn't work. The latest update to Adobe Acrobat Pro has hosed the ability to 'fit height' when you save a PDF. Really annoying! I'm using 2017 release (classic) 2017.012.30229. It worked fine until the last patch release was applied a few weeks ago. 100% doesn't work either. Please don't waste time by telling me everything that's been posted in this thread. None of it works. And no i'm not going to use a 3rd party utility!
