Shared Commenting - Duplicate comments that cannot be deleted

Community Beginner ,
Oct 11, 2021 Oct 11, 2021

Hello

Our team is using the "Send for Shared Commenting" feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

Sometimes we get a situation where the exact same comment appears 3 times.

We tried the following:

- Delete the duplicate comments

- Click "Publish Comments"

But somehow the duplicates are not deleted.

Does anyone know of a solution?

My client sent me a pdf hundreds of comments and many are duplicates. Did you find a solution to this?

I found this tool which worked in removing duplicates.

https://www.try67.com/tool/acrobat-reader-dc-remove-duplicate-comments

It worked for my case, but if you decide to use it, please take all necessary precautions (make a backup copy of your PDF etc)

Thank you. That's good to know. I saw that and actually downloaded it - but didn't use it - worrying that I may expose my computer to some unknown malicious software. Thanks for the feedback.

If you were to open the .js file in notepad, the code seems harmless (perhaps get your IT person to look at it if you want a second opinion)

Having said that, I can understand your caution, and though it worked for me, I can't vouch for the tool since I did not develop it.
