SharePoint shared review is failing but I cannot get to the settings

Hi. We have been using shared commenting via SharePoint and today we are seeing that we can no longer initiate reviews. When we try we get the following error:

"The URL you have provided could not be reached. Please verify that the URL is correct and that the network location is reachable"

This is followed by:

"The file destination provided is not valid. Enter a valid file location"

When I OK that message, it goes away but does not bring up the dialog for changing the reivew settings.

I've checked our SharePoint site and nothing seems to have changed. I've also found that we can still comment on existing reviews.

So I have a couple of questions:

  • Does anyone know why we are now seeing this error?
  • How do I access the settings for the shared reviews? (I've checked the Preferences but this does not, as far as I can see, give access to be able to configure new review settings or edit existing ones).

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Thanks for the reply Jeremy. We seem to have sorted out the issue by trial and error. Uninstalling Acrobat and installing the latest version allowed shared reviews to be configured again. Not sure what caused it but all seems to be fine now.

Do you have enterprise SharePoint and enterprise Adobe accounts? If so, I'm guessing you'll have to investigate this on the backend with admin access.

My company has enterprise accounts for both but myself and other colleagues struggle to get any commenting to work outside of the team members who have a full CC license. Whenever I send docs for review, I'm notified something to the note of "anyone with the link can comment" implying that there is not a need for a paid account yet several people cannot view docs—even if they are logged in and authenticated with a free Adobe account. This is the case for Adobe Document Cloud docs (shared via Acrobat) and the Share for Review function within InDesign, Illustrator, PS, etc.

Such a struggle for something that seems so trivial and fundamental for modern workflows and approvals.
