'Sign yourself' image signature option no longer available?

I'm just setting up a new PC. I installed Creative Cloud and then Acrobat Pro from there.

I then went to sign a document using the image of my signature with 'sign yourself' as I've done countless times previously only to find it wasn't an option!

'Fill & Sign' no longer appears as a sidebar option and searching tools for it shows nothing.

There's a signature icon at the top that says 'Sign document by typing or drawing a signature' but that does nothing.  The signatures box on the left hand side has all options greyed out.

This is all using freshly installed, latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro 64-bit 2023.001.20064.

So no idea why, but doing a full uninstall via the removal app (https://ardownload2.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/AcrobatDC/2100120135/x64/AdobeAcroCleaner_DC2021.exe) and then a reinstall via the direct download (https://trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/APRO/Acrobat_HelpX/win32/Acrobat_DC_Web_x64_WWMUI.zip) rather than Creative Cloud seemed to do the trick and 'Fill and Sign' is now back!

In fact the whole 'Fill & Sign' part seems to be missing - as well as being unable to do normal image signatures there's no tick/cross, fill text, etc that you can normally do with a paper form.

I wouldn't install Adobe Acrobat Pro from the Creative Cloud (CC) app.

If you were able to install Acrobat Pro countless times through the CC app in the past and had no issues, it seems like now it breaks something. Many users in the forums seem to report a similar issue when Acrobat is intsalled with the CC app ( but it is not happening to every and all users though).

My guess would be that You can  try and uninstall Acrobat completeley, run the Acrocleaner tool and then download and install the Acrobat installer for your respective OS version from an official Adobe download site other than the one that the CC app employs.

Thanks - as I say that's what I did in the end, just weird it's the same version either route but clearly installing via CC in the first place seems borked! Not a great show from Adobe, although wish I could say I was shocked!!

Well, in any case thank you for sharing that solution.

I am sure it will help many.
