Simplified Chinese font in pdf form field

I have a pdf form that needs to be filled in with Simplified Chinese characters on PCs and Macs. What font can I use for the fields that will work please? I'm producing the form on a Mac and have tried various Chinese fonts but when viewed on a PC when typing into the fields the fonts don't work.

Could you please confirm if the fonts do not work when you try to fill the form on PC? Or is it an issue with the PDF font?

Please share more information and the screenshot of what is happening. 

It would be helpful if you could share the PDF form and the screen recording of the issue with us.

Share the Acrobat and OS version numbers.

Thank you for responding. I need to be able to type into the pdf form fields with Simplified Chinese text on a Mac and PC using Adobe Reader. I've built the forms on a Mac and have tried various Chinese fonts including NotoSansSC, Microsoft-JhengHei and HeitiSC which sometimes work on my Mac but not on a PC. Attached is what my client sees when typing and attached is a test pdf I've been trying. Is there a generic font that I can use? I switch my keyboard to Simplified Chinese when trying.
