Smooth scrolling

New Here ,
Oct 08, 2025 Oct 08, 2025

My saved jpeg files that I use for presentations no longer scroll smoothly while using the touch screen on my Surface Pro and remain static unless I access the pan tool and then enable the scrolling tool every time I reopen the file. I have done nothing in the settings to cause this and it started happening 2 weeks ago . I even tried restoring an older adobe version. Same issue

Any suggestions??

Hi Biz Guy,

Thank you for reaching out and reporting this.

It sounds like the issue may be linked to recent changes in how Adobe apps interact with Windows Ink and touch gestures, especially following a Windows update. Please try the following suggestion and check if that works:

1. Check Windows Ink Settings: Windows Ink can interfere with touch and pen behaviour in Adobe apps. Try disabling Windows Ink to see if it restores smooth scrolling.

  • Open the Wacom Tablet Properties (or your pen/tablet settings).

  • Select your pen tool → go to the Mapping tab.

  • Uncheck “Use Windows Ink”.

  • Restart Adobe and test scrolling again.

2. Update Windows and Adobe Apps: Ensure both Windows and Adobe apps are fully updated.

3. Restart After Sleep Mode: If the issue occurs after waking from sleep, try restarting your Surface Pro or briefly plugging in the power supply. This has helped some users restore smooth touch behaviour.

If the above steps do not help, let us know.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
