sticky note disappears as soon as I click off it

Just in the past few months, when I try to add a sticky note, it will disappear once I click off it 100% of the time when I click outside of the Acrobat window, and occasionally even when I click inside the acrobat window. This isnt an issue of it just turning invisible or white or something, because it is not even listen in the comments panel. It just gets removed completely. I am using Acrobat Pro 32 bit, version 23.008.20470.

I have searched for help with this issue but it seems like everyone who has had similar issues still has the comment listed in the comment panel, but the note itself is just becoming invisible for some reason. So, not sure what to think about this one. It's pretty frustrating though to spend a few minutes typing some note just to have it be deleted!

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

As you have the application updated to the most recent version , try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Also for testing, please try to turn off the protected mode. Go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd +K) > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable protected mode at startup' > click OK and reboot the application and check.
Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risk.

Hi thanks for the response. I already had protected mode turned off, but I tried the repair option. I am still having an issue with this after doing both those things.

I want to reiterate what is happening because I have been testing it more and have a clearer understanding of what happens.

If I add a sticky note, and I click on a second open Acrobat window BEFORE clicking somewhere in the Acrobat window where I added the sticky note, that is when the sticky note disappears.  I can click on as many other open programs like a browers or whatever, after adding the note, and nothing happens. But as soon as I click on that second Acrobat window, it goes away.  The only way to prevent it is to either just not have a second Acrobat window open, which in my job is not much of an option, or just always click somewhere in the same Acrobat window that I put my note in before clicking anywhere else.

Also these are local files and are not on any share.

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

If it still doesn't work, please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html  and check.
