Stop/Prevent "Prepare Form" changing to "Edit PDF" while editing Form Fields

A new feature was recently introduced that when editing form fields in "Prepare Form", clicking on any page text switches off form editing and allows the editing of text and images, i.e. changes to "Edit PDF".

Is there an option to stop/prevent this?

I do all my content edits in word and do not want to accidentaly edit text in Acrobat.

Additionally it poses the very annoying issue of selecting page text when trying to box select multiple form fields.

Basically it's tried to combine Form editing and Text editing, which are separate options for a reason.

Please help!

Hi,

I don't think this can't be stopped as it was introduced as a "feature" back in December or November 2019.

You can manually roll back two updates and see if this is true.
