Nontransferable to another human. This is a specific limitation on the student license; the retail product can be transferred with signed consent from BOTH parties (not by an employer).

Licensing with non-subscription product (retail and student) works like this. You can use it on ONE computer. But you can install on a second computer, and switch between them (for example, your own desktop and laptop).

Without formality. It just works on either, but under the terms of the license, you have agreed to not try to use both at the same time, just as you've agreed not to share with any other human.

Hello, How is this shown as a fact, more than a forum claim, please?

This sounds credible, yet a responsible adult would verify such a claim.

With kind regards,

Respectfully, I mark this response as insufficient to deliver "solved."

Question is certainly NOT solved. With kind regards, yet disappointed 😞

Replying to try67.

With all due respect, the reply needs more. Perhaps a link to the associated help article or some documentation for the stated response. It is credible, yet only acceptable from an employee of the corporation or its published writings. Your response, while appreciated, is an opinion only. One hopes this is not found rude. Yet these are facts.

AGAIN, the reply by try67 is unmarked as "correct."

This was, as previously stated an insufficient reply, lacking detail and reference to an authorative source.

Mere OPINION is not sufficient.

Please, try67, I have no use for your input. Please stop helping me!

PS. I was not the one who marked my reply as correct, even though it is.

PPS. Everything you see here is "opinion", unless posted by an official Adobe employee (and even they are sometimes wrong about things).

It's nontransferable and non upgradable, but that's a property of the license, not the software.

Hi TSN, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "nontransferable."

Nontransferable, as in from one human owner to another? Or nontransferable between two (one to another) devices owned by the SAME person?

Indeed, the question may be asked a different way.

Is there a limit on the number of devices where the license may be installed at any given time? [positive integer number]

Is there any prohibition on transferring from one device to another (within the device limit)? ['yes' or 'no']

Thank you so much. Kind regards,

To install to computer #3, for example after a failure, you must EITHER deactivate it on the old computer, if available OR contact Adobe and ask them to reset the license count (you CANNOT DO THIS). This becomes more difficult with time, as Adobe staff like to just say old versions aren't supported.

Expect that after 10 years or so, or less, reinstalling may become impossible - based on past experience: Adobe staff will have no comment on this.

Hey, thank you TSN, for this great reply!

Can you expand and explain some more how this works in practice, please?

"and switch between them (for example, your own desktop and laptop)."

How is 'switching' done? Thank you so much!

Thanks TSN. If indeed my Adobe Acrobat were to function reliably until summer of 2030, that would seem reasonable and would likely be approaching the end of useable lifetime of the installed hardware anyway. So a 10-year license is far, far better than any subscription. One hopes to not need Acrobat or find some/any credible alternative by then. I marked your response as "correct." You rock!
