I have Acrobat XI Pro installed. The support expired.
Say, I (reluctantly) switch to DC.
subscribing is one thing, but what then?
Do I get an installer or something?
How to proceed with the existing Acrobat XI (standalone) - do I need to uninstall it?
Thanks!
Yes, Adobe is doing it's best to hide this option... Here are some instructions I compiled on how to get to it, anyway.
Go to the Adobe Products Page: https://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/software.html and search for "Acrobat".
Click on the Buy button next to Acrobat Pro 2017, and then change the "I want to buy" option to "Full License" (or "License Upgrade" if you have a qualifying earlier version).
Then select the other options and click on Add To Cart, and proceed to checkout. You'll get a ful

Hello adwul62
As per the description above, you want to upgrade from Acrobat Pro 11 to DC subscription, Is that correct?
Once you upgrade to the subscription model of Acrobat Pro DC, you will be able to download and install the software from your Adobe account.
You have to uninstall the Acrobat Pro 11 and have to install Acrobat Pro DC. You can also download Acrobat Pro from Download Acrobat 2017
For pricing details, you can refer to Plans and pricing | Adobe Acrobat DC Link: https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/acrobat/pricing.html
You can also contact the Adobe support team for plan and pricing details Contact Customer Care Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/support.html
Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance.
Regards,
Anand Sri.

Many thanks indeed!
Ahum . . . to be honest, I have to confess: I wasn't aware of Acrobat 2017. It is a shame, I know, but, for me, so far there was no need for a new version.
Checked out Acrobat website and noticed a purchase button on DC, but none on the 2017 version.
Probably 2017 is not for sale anymore.

Adobe seem to make a point of making this hard to find, because they really only want the subscription model. But it does exist. In Europe it doesn't seem to be on Adobe's site to buy.

Thank you both very much indeed!
Indeed Adobe is not eager to sell the stand alone version. On www.greymatter.com I found the below side by side comparision.
There are just some few differences only, difference that are of no importance to me.
DC costs € 216 per year prepaid
Single License 2017 upgrade € 287
Don't know if a 2018 version is in the make to be released soon.
Do you know of a kind of side-by-side comparison XI Pro vs 2017 Pro?

Again, thanks to you both. Regretfully I can only mark 1 reply as correct answer. With respect to others, I think try67 led me into the right direction specifically 'search for Acrobat'. Personally I think it is a bit of a shame that Adobe more or less hides the software they actually prefer nót to sell... It is like a car-dealer having cars that can be leased only in the showroom. You vainly keep on walking around in the showroom, but no non-lease car can be found.
Until someone outside tells you you which town, street and dealer still sell those 'non-lease' cars...
Anyway, I bought 2017 Pro...
