I have a complex table that I created in InDesign and exported to Acrobat. The table tabs didn't export properly so I have to manually edit them. Once I start editing them, all of the tags become invisible, meaning that when I open the accessibility tags panel and click on <Document>, nothing happens. I tried quitting and restarting Acrobat but it didn't fix the problem. I ended up having to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat, which made the tags visible again. But as soon as I started trying to fix the document, the tags disappeared again. Thankfully, this is just a practice file but I'm still totally unimpressed witht this bug.
Has anybody else experienced anything like this? Any suggestions about maybe fixing the InDesign file so that it exports better in the first place? As far as I know, I've done everything properly in InDesign.
Attached is the original file before I started trying to fix the table. TIA.

Hi @L Gryfe!
It seems you’re having trouble with tags not displaying after doing manual edits for accessibility in Adobe Acrobat.
As @Bevi Chagnon - PubCom.com rightly mentioned in the thread: Once a PDF is tagged, all edits to the content must be made in the source document (Word, PowerPoint, InDesign, etc.) and then export a new tagged PDF.
Here are some steps that might help resolve this issue:
Revert to Source Document: If you encounter issues after manual edits, it’s often best to revert to the source document (InDesign), make the necessary changes there, and then re-export a new tagged PDF.
Avoid Editing Tags Directly: Once a PDF is tagged, avoid making direct edits to the tags in Acrobat. Instead, edit all content in the source document and re-export the PDF.
The best presets for Exporting a PDF using InDesign can be found here: Export InDesign files to Adobe PDF.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response but the issue isn't my ability to edit content. The content is fine. This is bug. Tags that were visible before I edited the table are no longer visible. They're still there. They just don't display. I know this is the case bc when I open the same document on my PC everything is still there as it should be.

I am able to see the tags in the document you shared above.
Would you mind sharing a screen recording of what you see when opening it in the system you experience the issue with?

Sorry but I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I fixed the issue on my non-Mac laptop. A response two months after the fact isn't all that helpful.
