Taskbar Phantom Window when using multiple monitors

Community Beginner ,
Jan 30, 2024 Jan 30, 2024

I'm using Windows 11.  I've used Adobe Acrobat Pro for many years but recently upgraded to Windows 11 and am wondering if my issue is related. Using multiple monitors (extended view) when I open a pdf file on one monitor there is one icon in the taskbar showing my open file name as expected. If I MOVE this pdf document to one of my other monitors the taskbar DUPLICATES and shows two open files with the same name even though I only have ONE document open.  If I move it to the third monitor sometimes it shows in triplicate.  This is visually distracting and uses up my taskbar space.  If I open a second document it is very difficult to tell which file to toggle back to as the "phantom" files don't react if I click on them.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to keep you waiting.

If you are still experiencing this issue, please update the application to the recent version 23.08.20555 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, check for any pending/missing updates for Windows OS and try updating it and check.

Let us know how it goes.

~Amal

@sprinklr-integration-user, I have the same issue, running version 2024.001.20604. Suggesting reader and Windows updates is a copout that avoids resolving the issue.  I remember a similar issue with Adobe products many years ago, and it seems to have returned.

In any case, I chose to check for updates and got this message:

In typical Adobe fashion, it provides no meaningful information, and if I click on "Details," it takes me to a generic Release Notes page: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html.

If I try to update, I get an equally helpful error message:

I'm typing this via an active website, so the only connection problem is Adobe's. So, my version is more recent than the one you suggest, and Adobe is unable to update further, so what's the next step?

Over a year later, still an issue. Whenever I open a PDF using Acrobat it seems to show two tabs of the same file on my taskbar. Opening either just shows the same window. This stacks if I have multiple tabs of PDFs.

Same issue. Is Adobe listening? Or is this just an echo chamber?
