Temporary files question

For the last few weeks, I've been noticing that Adobe has been saving a bunch of temporary files in the folders where I keep the PDF. It's never done that before - the first time that happened, it was around the time one of my projects had an "access denied" issue.

Is it normal to find temp files in the same folder as your PDF? Or is this something that could affect how my documents are saved?
