Hallo zusammen,

Hi Natimtn,
Thank you for reaching out.
Would you mind elaborating on the issue?
How are you trying to edit or move the fields? Please share the steps you do.
It would be helpful if you could share some screenshots for a better understanding.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Does you move or edit form text fields?

Are you sure that you are talking about form fields?
Because this behavior is typical of text boxes when manipulating them with the Edit Text tool.

I have the same problem as described with text boxes - not with form fields.
Is there any way to turn the automatic connection of text boxes off?

Does you use comment text boxes?

I'm not sure - I'm using Adobe Acrobat Standard for creating pdf documents and select this tool for text boxes:

There you can only show or hide the bounding boxes.

Answer is no.

Indeed, though they aren't actually connecting; they never existed in the PDF. PDF files don't contain text boxes, so what happens each time you edit is it analyses all the text on the page, and makes boxes for your convenience in editing. If the text ends up farther apart or closer together, it's going to make different boxes, and you might see this as joining. This usually affects people trying to make complex edits or edit complex files, something far beyond Acrobat's capabilities, nor any PDF editor. Always keep original files and edit them.

In LibreOffice Draw there is a (great) option to merge scattered text areas into one in a PDF.
But there is no way to do the opposite.
