Text Search Breaks When Inserting A Line Break

Hey gang,

I've got another esoteric problem. Specifically, it's this: I need to insert a line break at a specific character in a word while keeping the entire word searchable with the Find command. Normally, I would just insert a soft return (Shift + Enter) to force a line break; however, Acrobat turns the soft return into a hard return, breaking one word into two. Wat do?

TL;DR: In this example, I need this...

...to look like this, with "consectetur" remaining searchable as a whole word. As it stands, Acrobat finds "con sectetur", but not the entire word.

I use Illustrator CC 2015 and Acrobat XI Professional.
