The text overflows the box boundaries and is cut off

Hello,

I have tried to edit the PDF by changing font size and adjust the box size and nothing works. I don't understand how they can make a scrolling text box an option when you are filling it out, but not when you're reading it.

Any advice will be appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi @nellyklopez

Hope you are doing well.

As per the issue description that you are not able to scroll when viewing the text inside a fill-in field. Please check if the form is created in Acrobat DC or from some other application. Acrobat DC provides you the feature while creating a fill-in text box.

Fill the form is not created in Acrobat then you can try removing the field and adding a new one from the "Prepare form" tool.

Here is a help document to refer to: https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/acrobat/using/create-form.html

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Harsh

Hi Harsh,

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, the form is already created. I followed instructions from Adobe Help. The issue here is that the scrolling bar does not appear when we try to read the complete chunck of text. If you see the previously attached image, there is more text under the fourth line. That is why we added a scrolling bar.

Best,

Nelly

Hi Nelly,

Unfortunately you have two options. One is to provide additional information on a separate sheet of paper or to contact the creator of this form that they needed to supply more room for their questions. Looking at the screenshot, I do agree that they blew this setup. They are asking for a lot of information but provide space for very little.

There is an option when creating forms to add a scrollbar but this means that it's impossible to print the form out because the text (past the edge of the field) will remain out of sight. When faced with limited space or limited number of characters, I play the game of abreviations, cutting words, etc. to try to get all that I can into the field but what they are asking here is rediculous in the space provided. If you can contact them you can quote me!

Unless you can get a new form sent to you, you'll probably have to contend with an extra page (or two) of answers.
