Hi all we notice here we are getting this This file can not be opened because it is corrupted or damaged. When I first get the email I can open it and then when I go to
foward the email the recipient gets the error message. They ask me to resend when I go to check the file from the oringal file I get the message. Has anyone experience this. Someone mention it was Adobe add in in outlook. But I doubt it.

Same here. Using Microsoft Windows 10. I tried to file my taxes this morning but could not load any of my previous pdf tax files. I also tested all of the .pdf files on my machine and discovered they no longer load. Each time, the same error message is the same: "This file can not be opened because it is corrupted or damaged..." This had never happened prior to the recent September update.
I will have to report this to the IRS and ask for more time until Adobe could fix this issue. Adobe ought to fix this issue ASAP becuase all of my important documents are saved in .pdf format. So I am out of commission for the time being.

What version of Acrobat are you using? Can you test also this with a non-tax PDF file?

I do not know the version. I have since uninstalled the program. Though, it is the version of the most recent update.
I tested most of the .pdf files on my machine - only 4 are tax documents. All of them have the same error message. These files have accumulated over the course of nearly a decade. None have had any issues before.

That's what users think, but not always is! Updates could be missed out for many reasons.

I ran the updates myself around September 20th following an Adobe update notification.

I do not have issues.
Is it only with your tax files? It would be nice to be able to share a PDF file, but I would not ask you to share your tax PDF file.
What Acrobat are you using?

When I try to upload them, they fail with the error message: "this file can not be opened because it is corrupted or damaged. cannot upload it..."
Also, when I tried to open it in chrome browser, it fails with the error message saying like the resource could not be reached because it could be down or has moved.
If you could relay any other ways I can share one of the files with you, it would be appreciated.
Thanks
NB: I was using the Acrobat updated on about September 20, 2023. I uninstalled it as I started getting this error when I tried to open the PDF files with it.

But if you do not use Acrobat, there is no need to continue. This forum is about Acrobat, not PDF files. If PDF files get corrupted, they can't be opened with any reader, it doesn't matter who provides it.

All of my PDF files became corrupt accord to the lastest Acrobat Reader installation after I installed its latest update. And I can no longer open or upload any of those files at all. Clearly this is an Acrobat issue, do you not agree?

Can I count on you to address this issue in earnest or not?

What happens, when you save the PDF document to your hard disk, and open it from there?

It looks like the file changes by forwarding the mail. Would it be possible to share one of those files? If they contain confidential or private data, is it possible to create a test PDF and do the manipulation?
