Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble caused. As described, you are not able to seethe thumbnail preview in Windows 10 Explorer even after changing the preferences within Acrobat DC.

Please try the following settings on Win 10.

  1. Go to Windows icon in the lower left corner and type 'File Explorer Options'

2. Under 'View' tab Uncheck 'Always show icon, never thumbnails' Click Apply > OK

I have the preferences set as discussed in this thread but PDF thumbnails still show only icon and preview pane also does not show any preview.

I have been working on this problem for a long time.

Are there any other suggestions?

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that the issue is still un resolved. As mentioned the preview pane also dont show any preview.

It seems to be some issue with the user profile. Please try to create a new test user profile on Windows and try using the application there and check.

Hi @defaultputi3bets41o

Thank you for reaching out with your question:

The PDF Shell component in Acrobat and Acrobat Reader allows you to see thumbnails of PDF documents in Windows Explorer on both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows. This feature is OFF by default. You can enable it using a specific setting available in the preferences.

Steps:

  1. Open Acrobat or Acrobat Reader. Select the hamburger menu   > Preferences.

  2. In the Preferences dialog box, choose General in the Categories list, and then select the Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer check box.

    Enable PDF thumbnail previews

    Note:

If you don't see the Enable PDF thumbnail previews in the Windows Explorer checkbox, update your Acrobat or Acrobat Reader to the latest version. To automatically update the product, choose Help > Check for updates and then follow the steps in the Updater window to download and install the latest updates.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Wait for a few seconds while Acrobat is configured to show thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer.

Let us know how it works.
